At first it may seem a bit strange that as a Master of Science in Engineering I would primarily focus on students in the elections. However, upon closer examination, this makes sense. As a Master of Science in Engineering, I have had time to go through the entire university path and therefore know student life and the university world almost better than my own pockets. In addition, as a big bonus, I have already had time to live in Lappeenranta after a few years of studying, which has given me a considerable amount of experience and views of the city, also from outside the study circles.

By seeing things through the eyes of both students and other city residents, I am able to build new connections between students and the city in a different way. I believe that by further intensifying the cooperation between students and the city, we can make Lappeenranta an even better place for students and shape the city more vibrant. It would be difficult to achieve such a broad perspective without going through the entire university and graduation process.

Even though I'm no longer officially a student, I still can't get enough of the student spirit. I still like to drop by student events occasionally to enjoy the Skinnarila vibe. Also, even if I accidentally graduate from university, learning never ends. So even if the subject of learning changes from time to time, I'm always a student of something.
